Student Hit by Truck in Elmore County

An Elmore County student is critical condition after being struck by a truck this morning.
Elmore County school superintendent, Dr. Jeff Langham, says the student, who attends Airport Road Intermediate School, was hit by a white Ford pickup truck at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Deatsville Highway.
“Our prayers go out to the family, that sweet baby. This is just the greatest fear of a school system that something happens to one of our sweet babies, so this is of great concern,” said Langham.
The student was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, where they are in critical condition.
