Shots Fired at Troy Apartment Complex
What is usually a quiet area, has recently turned into hotbed of unwanted late night activity. Officers say multiple rounds of gunshots were fired at pike grove apartments at midnight on last Wednesday and just recently on Sunday.
“The rounds have been fired from the ground level up into the second story window,” says Chief Randall Barr of the Troy Police Department
Officers believe only one apartment unit was targeted. But people in the area say it is putting everyone in harm’s way.
“I have a mother that lives in the apartments. I have friends that live over here. Anybody could have got hurt, killed,” says Charlene Davis.
“We do have a lot of children out here. We do have a lot of innocent people that don’t have anything going on with what’s going on out here,” says Ulrika Thomas, Property Manager of Pike Grove Apartments.”
The motive in both incidents is unknown. Officers have increased patrol in the area and are urging residents to speak up if they see anything suspicious.
“Whether it’s significant or not, we want to talk to them and hear what they’ve got to say,” says Barr.
It’s something they believe could make all difference.
“Anybody could have got hurt out here that night,it needs to stop, says Thomas.
Right now officers are looking for a dark red or maroon Jeep Cherokee or Wrangler, that was possibly part of both incidents. If you have any information that could lead officers to an arrest you are asked to call the Troy Police Department at (334) 566-0500.
