Man Found Dead Near Interstate in Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) – Authorities in Lee County are working to identify a man who was found dead near Interstate 85.

Auburn Police Capt. Will Matthews tells the Opelika-Auburn News the man was found dead Saturday afternoon and authorities think it could take days to identify him.

Lee County Coroner Bill Harris tells WSFA-TV the man wasn’t carrying any form of identification and may have been homeless. Details on the cause of the man’s death weren’t immediately available.

The man’s body has been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy and identification. Authorities say foul play isn’t suspected.
