Elmore Schools Chief Leaving Post for State Job

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – The superintendent of Elmore County’s public school system says he’s leaving his position to begin working with the Alabama State Department of Education.
Jeff Langham is expecting to begin working with the state department of education in 2015. Langham told the Montgomery Advertiser on Tuesday that although the opportunity is exciting, leaving his position in Elmore County will be bittersweet.
Langham is going to serve as assistant state superintendent for external affairs. The newspaper reports Langham worked as an education specialist for the state department of education between 2001 and 2004, before he began working as superintendent in Elmore County.
