Man Accused of Dismembering Step-Father’s Body

A south Alabama man is charged in the death and dismemberment of his 87-year-old stepfather after body parts were found in Baldwin County.

Authorities say 55-year-old William Alvin Minton is charged with murder in the killing of Kenneth Bryan Hood of Foley. He’s also charged with corpse abuse.

Officials told a news conference Wednesday they believe Hood was killed in the home he shared with his wife and Minton.

Body parts began showing up around Magnolia Springs over the weekend.

A resident found part of an arm and a hand on Sunday. Searchers have since found a torso, head and other severed parts.

Investigators say the body contained a pacemaker that helped them identify Hood as the victim.

The motive isn’t clear. Minton was arrested in Millbrook on Tuesday.

Concord was fired and is in jail.
