New Tradition for Long Running Turkey Classic

Thousands of fans were out in Montgomery to witness the long running tradition of the Turkey Day Classic.

It’s the 91st annual event, but this year there were some changes. The game against ASU and Stillman, along with the parade were moved to Saturday instead of Thanksgiving Day.

Many students say they enjoyed the change because now they are able to get home for the holiday.
Other fans said they were going to support their school, but would like it to return to a Thanksgiving day tradition.

Larry Key, an alum who’s attended classic for past 20 years said, “It’s more like home. It’s tradition. Ever since I’ve been attending ASU it’s been on a Thursday so we just truly like it. But, this Saturday morning we are glad to see everybody that’s come out to support it.

Alabama State beat Stillman 30 to 27.
