GoFundMe Page Nears $2K for Survivor of Deadly Crash

There’s now an online donation page to help offset the medical costs for the sole survivor in a fatal Elmore County crash that claimed four lives in November. Nicolas Benjamin, 16, of Eclectic was in the passenger seat of the car that collided with a patrol car from the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office on Firetower Road on Nov. 23. Deputy James Bart Hart, 50, was the sole occupant of the patrol car. He and Austin Ryan Augustine, 16, Dylan Adler Bieber, 16, and Hoyt Elliot Hardin, 16, were all killed in the accident. Benjamin and Hart were the only two wearing a seat belt, according to Alabama State Troopers. So far the GoFundMe page has raised more than $1,700 to help cover medical costs.
