Update: House Fire Family Gets Helping Hand from Community

A happy update for you –  after we ran a story about a family losing everything in a house fire, some “Good Samaritans” have come forward to help out.

Blake and April Boyden lost everything in a fire Saturday morning including their dog.
They say it was because a space heater caught fire.
They escaped with just the clothes on their backs.
The Boydens have a newborn in the neonatal intensive care unit and are trying to get back on their feet.
But some people did come forward wanting to donate furniture and clothes to the family.
One woman says their story touched her heart.

“You know you’re supposed to help your neighbor. that’s what the Bible says. I have more than enough. The Lord has blessed me. My daughter went back home to NY, and now I have a lot of furniture and I would like to help them. we have more than enough here,” said Frederica Holmes.

Someone also dropped off a 100 dollar bill for the family at our station.
The Boydens say they appreciate the generosity.
