Coldest Weather of Season Arrives in the River Region

A lot of people are trying to stay indoors during the cold snap, but that can pose problems if your heating system is out. That’s keeping the people who repair them very busy.
“The phones have been off the hook this morning. Normally on day like this, we’re bombarded with 25, 30 phone calls before we can roll the phones over to our ladies in the office, and it’s steady all day. With the temperatures like they are the next couple of days, it’ll continue to be steady,” said Lee Grimes with Luquire Air Conditioning and Heating.
Many of those calls deal with the same problems, including igniters and pilot lights going out, particularly when it comes to gas systems.
Technicians say they have enough people working this week to make sure they’re able to answer calls within 24 hours.
They say the biggest key to making sure your heating system stays running is to get regular maintenance on it all year long.
