Man Arrested After Throwing Chainsaws at Police
A Birmingham man is behind bars and another suspect is on the loose after leading Demopolis police on a high speed chase down Highway 80.
Demopolis police say Audre Hendon is facing numerous charges, including burglary and attempting to elude a police officer.
They say the chase began when police responded to an alarm at the John Deere on highway 80. When they got there, a white van sped off, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
They say the two suspects threw chainsaws and other items taken from John Deere at police chasing them to try to get them to wreck while they were driving.
The chase ended in Selma.
