2 Troy Robbery Suspects Arrested, Police Search for Third

Two suspects are behind bars and one is still on the run after a robbery in Troy.

Troy police say Cherod Peebles, 23 from Union Springs, and Robert Lee Jones, 24 from Tuskegee, are in jail after robbing a man in the 600 block of Henderson Drive.

Police say an officer was in the area on a prior burglary call, when he noticed three men running away from a courtesy officer at the complex.

Police say Jones, Peebles and a third suspect allegedly knew the victim and got inside acting like they were just visiting. Authorities say they then pistol whipped the victim, demanded items and then ran away.

Police credit neighbors for their help in catching the suspects.

Lt. Bryan Weed, Troy Police said, “We can’t stress how valuable their information, their time and their cooperation is to us being successful. And also getting these people off the street and protecting their community.”

Police say they are close to arresting the third suspect, so they will not release his name until he is in custody.
