Fatal Fire Claims the Life of Marengo Co. Man

From the West Alabama Newsroom– A mobile home fire in the town of Thomaston claims the life of an elderly Marengo County man.

Authorities say 94 year old farmer James Clark was inside of his trailer home when the fire started early Tuesday morning.

They believe Clark was killed by the smoke from the burning fire.

They say a preliminary investigation indicates the fire may have been caused by an electric space heater.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
