Weigh-Ins Begin for Scale Back Alabama 2015

Weigh-ins begin for thousands of people participating in Alabama’s largest weight-loss program.
  Â
The Scale Back Alabama program begins weighing-in people participating in this year’s edition of the free program on Monday.
  Â
People will be stepping on scales at sites around the state to officially enter into the contest.
Each will attempt to lose at least 10 pounds during the 10-week program to be eligible for cash prizes at the end.
  Â
Participants will receive tips on eating less and exercising more during the competition.
  Â
Alabama ranks eighth nationally in terms of adult obesity, and about one-third of the state’s adult residents are obese.
  Â
The program aims to help reduce those numbers.
It’s sponsored by the state health agency, the Alabama Hospital Association and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
