Desmonte Leonard Sentenced to Life in Prison

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Tuesday a judge sentenced Desmonte Leonard to life in prison in a triple homicide.
Jurors convicted Desmonte Leonard of capital murder in the 2012 shooting deaths of former Auburn football players Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips along with DeMario Pitts. The three were slain during a party at an apartment complex near campus.
Auburn freshman football player Jakell Mitchell, 18, was killed in a separate shooting incident last month at the same apartment complex.
