State GOP React to State of the Union Address

President Obama’s State of the Union Address Tuesday was met with criticism from Alabama Republicans.
Senator Richard Shelby states:
“Tonight’s address from President Obama was once again heavy on rhetoric and light on real solutions for families and businesses across the nation. …Voters sent a strong message in november that they are dissatified with the role of government in their lives, yet the President failed to discuss his plans to work with Republicans in Congress on addressing these important concerns.”
Representative Martha Roby says she was offended by the President’s prospect of raising taxes, stating:
“… After all the waste, fraud and abuse that has gone on over the last several years… Who would want to send this government one more dime?”
Congressman Bradley Byrne had said:
“Instead of focusing on areas where Republicans and Democrats can work together, the President once again pledged more executive action and asked for higher taxes.”Â
