The Banks Volunteer Fire Department is getting a huge boast with the help of a grant.  The Plum Creek Foundation awarded the department with a $10,000 check.  Plum Creek Timber is a company based out of Seattle Washington.

The money will be used to purchase a skid unit. That’s a portable fire-fighting system that is hooked up to an ATV and can also be used for rescues. It’ll make it easier for the unit to get to emergencies like brushfires where a fire truck wouldn’t be able to reach.
