Gunshots Fired at Selma Hospital

A Selma man is facing multiple charges after a domestic situation leads to gunshots at a Selma hospital.

Police say Lareico Small of Selma is behind bars for Theft of Property 1st degree and he’s also looking at charges of Kidnapping and Assault.

They say Small abducted his wife at gunpoint, shot her in the leg, then took her to the emergency room where he was confronted by members of her family.

“One of her family members pulled up and blocked him into the parking lot of the hospital,” said Lt. Tory Neely.

“At some point Lareico, which is the husband Small, got out of the vehicle and got into the pick-up truck of the family member that had him blocked in and took off in the pick-up truck. That family member then displayed a handgun and started to shoot into the parking lot of the Vaughan at the vehicle Mister Small was leaving in.”

Neely says injuries were reported in that shooting and the hospital was placed on lockdown during the incident.

He said Small is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $30,000 dollars bond.
