Pastor Jay Wolf on Gay Marriage
Days after a Federal Judge ruled Alabama’s law banning same sex marriage is unconstitutional. Â It’s a topic on many conservative Christian minds.
The judge has issued a 2-week stay in the ruling, which overturns Alabama’s ban on same sex marriage.
In the meantime, many churches are facing questions from the congregation about what the ruling could mean for people of faith.
We talked to First Baptist Church Pastor Jay Wolf about his stance on the ruling.
“God is giving us a definition of how we have been wired,” he says. “We’ve been wired for a man and a woman to come together as a basic unit of society, and to begin to play a dangerous game, to eliminate that boundary is the equivalent of opening pandora’s box. What will be next?”
The U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to take up the issue of same-sex marriage this April. Any decision it makes would override any ruling by the state.
