Some Cloverdale residents say with alleged sightings on several streets in the Cloverdale- Idlewild area they are a little concerned.
“I guess not knowing very much about them except they could be dangerous…. I don’t know how they really behave at all. Since you don’t know what they will do that obviously makes you a little nervous,” said Denise Taylor, mother of two.
Others say they aren’t afraid of them.
“Not surprised . More surprised this is the first time people have noticed them. They are the most adaptive creatures. I think we just learn to live with it,” said Nancy Sheets.
Montgomery County Animal Services tells us this isn’t the only place coyotes have been spotted. In fact, they are all over the city.
They advise anyone coming into contact with one to steer clear and keep small animals inside or supervised when outside.
They say they are working with the city and the Department of Wildlife and Conservation to find out the best solution to the problem.
For now, neighbors in the area are keeping a closer eye on their children and pets.
“I really would limit the time they are outside by themselves even to go in and grab a phone or whatever,” said Taylor.
