Two People Dead after Apartment Fire

A second person is now dead after an apartment fire this weekend in Demopolis.
The fire broke out at the Crossgates Apartment complex just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese says two people are now dead and another was taken to the hospital for treatment.
A neighbor helped a young child escape form the apartment.
Two Demopolis firefighters were treated for minor burns.
No word on the cause of the fire.
