MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Academic Teams and individuals for the 2021 season Thursday and Alabama State was among the teams recognized for their work in the classroom. Alabama State had both teams recognized by the organization with the men earning the award with an overall grade point average of 3.068 and the women with a 3.127 grade point average. INDIANAPOLIS | The NCAA has awarded more than $1.2 million in initiative grants to 13 NCAA Division I schools to boost academic programs and initiatives that will help student-athletes earn their degrees, with Alabama State being among the schools honored.The grants were awarded through the Accelerated Academic Success Program for the 2021-22 year.

TEMPE, Ariz. | The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2021 Division I Women ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams this week, with Alabama State well represented with eight individuals and a team award.Alabama State was one of three teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) to earn the All-Academic Team distinction, while the Hornets also had eight student-athletes earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) will host its annual SWAC Football Media on Tuesday, July 20 at 10:00 am CST at the Sheraton-Birmingham. The event will be streamed live on ESPN3 with college football commentators Tiffany Greene and Jay Walker teaming up to host the event.
