Montgomery House Fire Under Investigation

The Montgomery Fire Department is investigating a house fire on Greg Drive. The fire happened Saturday at a one-story home. Firefighters were able to rescue eight pets. The two people inside were able to get out and received medical treatment, one fire-related. Inmate Death Reported at Bullock Correctional Facility

An Alabama prison inmate has died after an apparent assault last month at Bullock Correctional Facility. The Alabama Department of Corrections said Edwin Brazil, 40, died June 22 at a hospital from injuries sustained in an apparent assault by a fellow inmate on June 13. Former ADOC Officer Trainee Sentenced to Over 11 Years for Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

United States Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama announced that Terrence Dramon Tolbert, 40, of Brewton, was sentenced on June 29, to 135 months’ imprisonment for his possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine on February 24, 2020. In January of 2021, Tolbert pled guilty to the charge in federal court in Mobile.
