UPDATE: Montgomery police say the body found near U.S. Highway 31 at the Alabama River bridge has been identified as that of 27-year-old Joshua Thompson of Montgomery. Officials at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base say the base is planning to hold an active shooter exercise Friday. The base-wide event will test the installations’ emergency responses and procedures. Former Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard has been moved to a state prison to serve time for his ethics convictions.
