Residents Fear Overweight Trucks are Crossing Weight-Restricted Bridges

Residents that drive Old Selma Road think that overweight trucks are crossing the weight restricted bridges, and fear they may be in danger because of compromised bridge structure as a result. Inmate Found Dead Inside Holman Prison

Ricky Gilland (Source: ADOC) The Alabama Department of Corrections is investigating the death of an inmate at William C. Holman Correctional Facility. ADOC officials say that on the morning of October 18, correctional officers found 46-year-old Ricky Gilland of Vinemont unresponsive in his cell. Gilland was later pronounced dead by medical staff. Man Arrested in Prattville Homicide

One person is in custody following a homicide investigation in Prattville. Chief Mark Thompson says it happened just after 9:30AM on Cosby Court, just off Martin Luther King Drive. Police found one female victim dead on the scene. Authorities are calling it domestic-related. Troy University’s Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity chapter will remain suspended until the end of 2019. Dean of Student Affairs, Herb Reeves, made the announcement Thursday from his office inside the Student Center at Troy University.
