Alabama Unemployment Rate Down to 3.9%

Alabama’s unemployment rate is down slightly. The state Department of Labor says December’s preliminary, seasonally adjusted jobless rate is 3.9 percent. That’s a decrease from the November rate of 4 percent but slightly above the rate from a year before of 3.8 percent. Jewelry Store Employee Shot by Co-worker

Montgomery police are investigating a shooting incident involving two employees of Bryson’s Jewelry, located in Eastchase. The Alabama Department of Corrections is investigating the apparent suicide of a state inmate reported Wednesday at the Kilby Correctional Facility in Montgomery County.
