State troopers say a Montgomery man fatally shot himself after being pulled over in a traffic stop in Wetumpka. Troopers identified the man as 56-year-old Raymond Dawkins. Governor’s Security Officer Makes Lots of OT

The head of Gov. Robert Bentley’s security detail made $16,918 in August including overtime. Law officers in northern Alabama are searching for an inmate they say failed to return from a work-release assignment. Authorities say 24-year-old Christopher Chase Sapp of Hillsboro was being held for failing to appear in court.
