Former Interim Chief of the Selma Fire Department arrested on theft charges
The former Interim Chief of the Selma Fire Department was arrested on Friday July 26 and charged with first-degree theft of property.
A second person has now been charged with a man’s murder in Montgomery County.
Montgomery police have identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler in Montgomery.
The crash happened around 3:30 this morning on U.S. 80 near the 101 mile marker, four miles west of White Hall.

The fatal shooting happened around 12:46 a.m. in the 2600 block of Jan Drive.
U.S. District Judge Scott Coogler sentenced former state Rep. Fred Plump to 12 months and a day in prison and three years of supervised release.

Tevin Robinson was driving a child passenger in April of 2022, when he crossed the centerline on US 231 and side-swiped a vehicle before colliding head-on into a car driven by a Titus woman. The child and the woman were both killed.
