Chiefs rebuild O-line to protect Mahomes, fend off rivals

AFC champions don’t usually undergo offseason overhauls. But that’s exactly what the Kansas City Chiefs did this year. They dismantled their offensive line after their makeshift group imploded in their 31-9 shellacking at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl. All five offensive linemen are new and the group includes three players who have never played an NFL game. Patrick Mahomes says the group is getting better by the day. Protecting Mahomes is job No. 1 for the Chiefs if they’re to hold off challenges from the Chargers, Broncos and Raiders in 2021.
