Both the Troy men’s and women’s basketball teams will play in the Sun Belt Championship games. The women’s team will face James Madison, while the men’s team will face Georgia Southern.
Cooper Campbell scored 25 points as Troy beat Akron 79-69 on Saturday.
In his fourth season at Troy, Head Coach Eric Newell is optimistic heading into the 2026 season.
Following his second season as Head Coach of the Trojans, Gerad Parker appointed Adam Austin as the next Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Troy. Before coming to Troy, Austin had much success over two seasons at Tarleton State, where he helped the Texans to become the highest scoring among all FCS schools.

Troy and Jacksonville State will meet in the 12th annual IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. (CT) at the historic Cramton Bowl in downtown Montgomery, Ala. The game will be televised on ESPN.
