Pacers hand Thunder largest home loss in NBA history, 152-95
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma City Thunder suffered the largest home loss in NBA history Saturday night when they fell to the Indiana Pacers 152-95. The Pacers scored their most points in a game since joining the NBA in 1976.
Domantas Sabonis had a triple-double in the first half and finished with 26 points, 19 rebounds and 14 assists. Indiana led by 67 points with 4:12 remaining before the Thunder scored the game’s next 10 points.
The 57-point final margin topped the previous record of 56, set by the SuperSonics over the Rockets in 1986 and matched by the Celtics over the Bulls in 2018.
The NBA record for a loss is 68 points.
Indiana shot 65.5% from the field — the highest percentage for an opponent in Thunder history.
The Pacers’ previous record was 150 points against Denver in 1982.

Braves put catchers Travis d’Arnaud, Alex Jackson on IL
UNDATED (AP) — The Atlanta Braves put catchers Travis d’Arnaud (dahr-NOH’) and Alex Jackson on the injured list Sunday.
D’Arnaud was placed on the 60-day IL with a left thumb sprain after getting hurt on a tag play at the plate in the sixth inning of Saturday night’s game against Toronto. Jackson, who replaced d’Arnaud in the game, went on the 10-day IL with a strained left hamstring.
Catcher William Contreras was recalled from the Braves’ alternate site and started Sunday against the Blue Jays. Catcher Jeff Mathis had his contract purchased from alternate site.

— The Milwaukee Brewers have boosted their depleted catching situation by reacquiring Jacob Nottingham from the Seattle Mariners. Seattle had claimed Nottingham off waivers from Milwaukee last week but then designated him for assignment. The Brewers announced Sunday they acquired him for cash. Nottingham is in their starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Brewers have placed catchers Omar Narváez and Manny Piña on the injured list over the last week.

Jenner says transgender girls in women’s sports is ‘unfair’
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Caitlyn Jenner, the former Olympic champion and reality TV personality now running for California governor, says she opposes transgender girls competing in girls’ sports at school.
Jenner, a 1976 decathlon Olympic gold medalist who came out as a transgender woman in 2015, told a TMZ reporter on Saturday that it’s “a question of fairness.” During a brief interview, Jenner said “we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools.”
It was Jenner’s first comment on the controversial issue since announcing her candidacy to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom in a recall election.
Five states have passed laws or implemented executive orders this year limiting the ability of transgender youths to play sports or receive certain medical treatment. There’s been a vehement outcry from supporters of transgender rights.

Man United’s game off after fans storm stadium in protest
MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Anti-ownership protests by Manchester United fans forced the postponement of Sunday’s Premier League game against Liverpool as supporters stormed the stadium and reached the pitch, while thousands of others gathered outside Old Trafford to demand the Glazer family ownership sell the club.
Long-running anger against the American owners has boiled over after they were part of the failed attempt to take United into a European Super League. Supporters have been kept out of games due to the coronavirus pandemic.
United and Liverpool players were unable to travel to the stadium where there were clashes briefly between fans and the police under a shower of glass bottles as flares were sent off.
Although the crowds were later dispersed around the time the game was due to start, United said the game was postponed “due to safety and security considerations around the protest” after discussions with police, authorities and the league.

Hamilton wins Portuguese GP, extends lead over Verstappen
PORTIMAO, Portugal (AP) — Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton made two typically clinical overtakes to bounce back and win the Portuguese Grand Prix for a 97th career win on Sunday, extending his championship lead over Max Verstappen to eight points in his bid for a record eighth F1 title.
At one point Hamilton slipped to third, but the Mercedes driver slickly moved ahead on Lap 20 of 66 to finish ahead of Red Bull’s Verstappen and his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas, who started from the pole position.
Hamilton and Verstappen have been in the top two in all three races so far, with Hamilton winning two of them heading into next Sunday’s Spanish GP.
NASCAR-OBIT-ERIC MCCLURE
Ex-NASCAR driver Eric McMclure dies at 42
ABINGDON, Va. (AP) — Former NASCAR driver Eric McClure has died. His family and the series said he died Sunday at age 42. No details were given about his death.
McClure had posted on social media as recently as Saturday.
The sheriff’s office in Washington County, Virginia, said McClure’s body was sent to Roanoke for an autopsy.
McClure was the nephew of former Cup team owner Larry McClure and spent the majority of his career racing in the Xfinity Series. He made 288 career starts over 14 seasons with a career-best finish of eighth at Daytona in 2013. He last raced in 2016.
