US brings big lead into final day of Ryder Cup
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — The U.S. Ryder Cup team is trying to maintain its big lead over the Europeans on the final day of the Ryder Cup.
The United States began the day with an 11-5 lead. It needs 3 1/2 points out of the 12 singles matches to capture the cup for only the fourth time in the last 13 meetings.
Europe has a massive hill to climb. No team has overcome such a large deficit on the final day to win.

Patriots running back James White carted off
UNDATED (AP) — The New England Patriots have lost a key cog of their offense. Running back James White was carted off the field early in the second quarter with a hip injury.
White was being tackled along the sideline by Saints linebacker Demario Davis after a 6-yard run with 11:34 remaining in the quarter when he landed awkwardly on his knees. White remained on his back and was attended to by the training staff before the cart was called out.
Nearly all of White’s teammates came by to pat him on the shoulder before the cart drove to the locker room.
Elsewhere around the NFL:

— Colts All-Pro left guard Quenton Nelson is questionable to return against the Tennessee Titans after being carted to the locker room. He stayed on the ground for a couple minutes before walking to the sideline slowly before being taken to the locker room. The Colts also lost defensive end Kwity Paye for the rest of the game after he hurt a hamstring in the first quarter. Tennessee Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Brown also left the game with a hamstring injury.
