As COVID-19 Restrictions Ease Montgomery Sees Increase In Tourism

One year ago, Montgomery tourism was at an all time low due to the pandemic, but now as restrictions begin to ease tourists are coming back to the capital city.  The City of Montgomery offers all kinds of attractions and historic sites from the Rosa Parks Museum, to the state capital, and more. 

All City of Montgomery Employees Getting Pay Raises for the First Time in Years

Mayor Steven L. Reed revised the City of Montgomery’s pay plan to align employee compensation with that offered by comparable cities and organizations. This will result in substantial salary increases for the Montgomery Police Department, Montgomery Fire/Rescue, Sanitation, Street Maintenance and all City employees. The change will be effective on Oct. 1, 2021.

Demolition To Begin On Tallassee High School, New Building Coming in 2022

Demolition begins this week on Tallassee High School, and alumni are looking back on their memories in the building.  In 1929, the first Tallassee students walked the halls of their current high school. This week the school system is saying goodbye to the building where memories were made for almost 100 years.
