Single Vehicle Accident Causes Damage to First Baptist Church Montgomery

A woman from China has been convicted in federal court of setting a fire inside Montgomery’s First Baptist Church and gun possession charges, according to the U.S. Attorney.
It’s been nearly one year since an arsonist attempted to set fire to the historic church.
Pastor Bethea said the driver ran into the front steps of the Main Sanctuary causing heavy damage to the staircase and railing.
Lead Pastor Mark Bethea posted on the historic church’s Facebook page that an arsonist attempted to set fire to several areas of the church building, including the sanctuary.
