Montgomery Co. Deputies Investigate Mister Drive Shooting

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Wednesday night shooting. Officials say a man was shot on Mister Drive, off Wares Ferry Road.  He was transported from the scene with serious injuries.  A female suspect, Jessica Smith, is in custody. One person is dead and another is critically injured after a plane crash in Tallapoosa County, according to Sheriff Jimmy Abbett. A Beechcraft Bonanza plane crashed in a wooded area near Slaughter’s Crossing Road, east of Dadeville, around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. The Montgomery Baptist Association has set up a fund for the family of 13-year-old Maribel Barrera to help with funeral costs and other expenses.  Barrera was shot and killed at her home on Park Avenue in Montgomery early Thursday morning.
