Alabama lawmakers push sweeping gambling bill that would allow lottery and casinos
If approved by three-fifths of lawmakers, the proposal would be put on the ballot for voters to decide.
The proposed constitutional amendment will need 63 votes to win approval in the 105-member Alabama House of Representatives.
The bill would create an Alabama lottery, allow sports betting and authorize up to 10 casinos with table games and slot machines.
