MPS Failing School Transfer Numbers Released

Earlier this month we reported on parents transferring their kids out of failing Montgomery schools through the Alabama Accountability Act.  Now we’ve obtained the final numbers of just how many students are transferring. MPD: Woman in Serious Condition after Shooting

Montgomery Police are investigating a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital with injuries Sunday. Police say the shooting happened in the 5200 block of Carmichael Road around 1:15 p.m. The woman was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. State Board of Education Votes to Accept Evaluations of State Superintendent

Montgomery Police Investigating Deadly Crash

On Sunday, July 23, 2017, at about 8:50 p.m., Montgomery Police and Fire Medics responded to Vaughn Road at Wynlakes Boulevard in reference to a two-vehicle collision that resulted in one fatality. The crash involved a Yamaha motorcycle and a 2008 Toyota Corolla. The operator of the motorcycle, Joseph Armstrong, 37, of Elmore was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Corolla was uninjured. MPS Audits Reveal Excessive Teacher Absences

The newly released Montgomery Public Schools audits are revealing some chronic problems across schools, especially excessive teacher absences. The audit states that at Robert E.
