City of Montgomery officials tell Action 8 News that the grand reopening event will take place on January 27.
The Equal Justice Initiative’s new anti-poverty programs will continue, and the Freedom Monument Sculpture Park in Montgomery is set to open this spring.
The Class of 2024 Program will take place Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20 at Frazer Church in Montgomery.

33-year-old Vernica Searcy, of Montgomery, was found shot around 6:20 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Court Street.
Officials say around 10:00 p.m., the on-duty medical staff responded to the booking area concerning an inmate experiencing a serious medical condition.
The donations were provided through Action 8’s Magical Christmas Toy Drive and other programs, like the Angel Tree.
For the rest of November and throughout December, Hilltop will close at 4:00 p.m. and will reopen as Miracle at Hilltop at 5:00 p.m.
This year’s goal is to raise $125,000.
The American flag, the state flag of Alabama, the Montgomery County flag and the City of Montgomery’s flag are now the only four flags allowed to be flown on city property.
