The Mayor’s Office tells Action 8 News that Reed will be sworn into office on Friday.
The state House of Representatives voted 74-25 for the bill on Tuesday.
The bill now returns to the Alabama Senate where senators will decide whether to go along with House changes to the bill.
The shooting happened around 7:32 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West Fairview Avenue.
The fairs, which are free and open to the public, will take place on April 13 and April 20.
