MPS Postpones Meetings to Discuss School Closings and Rezoning

Montgomery Public Schools has announced that this month’s planned meetings to discuss school closings and rezoning of the system have been postponed. Those meetings were scheduled for March 20-22 and March 26th. The district has not said when or if those meetings will be rescheduled. Montgomery Police Department reports there is one person of interest in custody in the shooting death of a Bellingrath student. Montgomery Police Department spokesperson, Capt. Regina Duckett, says the 14-year-old female student shot this afternoon has died. Duckett says she was transported to Baptist South where she was pronounced.
