Vince Lennon

Alabama News Network Sports Director Vince Lennon made his return to the Capital City in January of 2016, after a near 20-year hiatus.
Longtime Montgomerians may remember Vince from his previous four-year stint as Sports Director at ABC Montgomery, from 1994 to 1998. Upon his return, he relishes the community pride and support for the Montgomery Biscuits, as Vince journalistically was the “tip of the spear” in championing the return of minor league baseball to Central Alabama.
Vince comes back to us with far more experience for local sports fans than his first foray here. Most recently, Vince was the sports anchor/reporter at Chattanooga, Tennessee’s top-rated NBC affiliate WRCB-TV. Previous to Chattanooga, Vince served as Executive Producer at Macon’s dual FOX/ABC affiliate WGXA-TV, where he was responsible for all evening and late newscasts
content and production.
Prior to his stint in Macon, Vince served for 8 years as a segment producer and show writer for CNN and Headline News, working with the likes of Kyra Phillips, Rick Sanchez and Robin Meade.
Before his CNN days, Vince worked as a reporter/fill-in anchor at Knoxville, Tennessee’s ABC affiliate WATE-TV. And before Knoxville, Vince served as reporter/anchor/sports photographer for Chattanooga’s ABC affiliate WTVC-TV.
Vince “broke his teeth” in the television business back in 1990 at Chattanooga’s CBS affiliate WDEF in a variety of positions both on and off air as he was a student at Chattanooga State and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (Go Mocs!).
Vince originally hails from the Tampa/St.Petersburg area, thus his undying loyalty to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and proof that he is no fair weather sports fan. It was in his hometown of Tampa where Vince first was bit by the broadcast bug, doing community radio at WMNF-88.5 FM back in the mid 1980’s.
Since 2000, he’s been happily married to his lovely wife and partner in life Margie, who is also a longtime veteran of the media industry. The happy couple have one son; Nick, who is about to enter college.
When not covering the massive sports landscape of Central Alabama, Vince has a number of varied interests, from wetting a line fishing to tinkering with vintage Volkswagens (air-cooled only baby!).
