Sullivan was 74 years old.

Sullivan owned Sinclair’s restaurant on Vaughn Road, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. His career spanned 50 years in the local area.

The restaurant has posted on Facebook that it will remain open, saying it appreciates the continued support of our staff and its restaurant family.

“Everybody became his friend,” Sinclair’s General Manager Ashley Adair told Action 8 News. “He was very thankful. He was thankful to his customers. He did things that other people in other restaurants didn’t do, you know trying to cater to them, and keep them as regulars and coming back. He was just very personable. They all became friends and family. He’s iconic, there’s not many people like him that has been in this business since they were 24 years old. You don’t really hear a bad word about him. He did so much greatness, like fundraisers and benefits for people, like for employees who got cancer and passed. He was just special, not many people that you talk to in the business haven’t worked for Johnny Sullivan. He touched a lot of lives. He wasn’t a stranger. You’d meet him and felt like you’d known him for years,” she said.

It asks that you keep Johnny Sullivan’s two daughters, grandsons and family in your prayers.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, at 11AM at St. Bede Roman Catholic Church, 3870 Atlanta Highway, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1PM.
