Families Welcome Montgomery Reservists Back Home

Some Alabama families are welcoming home their loved ones. On Thursday, 20 Air Force reservists landed back on American soil after a 7-month long deployment.

Dozens of family members and friends gathered to see the reservists finally come home at Montgomery Regional Airport. The 20 reservists are members of the 908th Security Forces Squadron. They deployed from Maxwell Air Force Base last August for the capital of Kyrzygstan. Many family members say it was difficult to be apart from loved ones, especially during the holidays, but they say they’re happy to have their loved ones home.

“I’ve missed my son, he’s missing a few teeth now, I’m really happy, I’ve missed my wife, I’m just really happy to be home,” said Christopher Moore, a reservist.

“I was just nervous, its been a long deployment, we’ve been through a lot, so I’m excited,” said his wife, Keri Moore.

The 908th security forces squadron is the only Air Force reserve unit in the state.
