Bullock Co. Schools Working To Prevent Tragedy

After the suicide of a Bullock County middle schooler, administrators are taking action to hopefully prevent more tragedy.
Â
Ka’shaad Hurts committed suicide February of this year. Â He was 13 years old and went to South Highlands Middle School.Â
Â
Bullock County Superintendent Keith Stewart says city and county leaders have been supportive after this recent tragedy and they are taking a closer look at their bullying and suicide prevention programs. City and county leaders have helped the school system come up with funding to bring in consultants.Â
Â
Consultants will be in Bullock County schools all day this coming Monday for a bullying and suicide prevention workshop. They will work hands on with students and faculty.Â
