University of Alabama to Demolish Campus Building

The University of Alabama intends to demolish a former dormitory for female graduate students that later became the College of Human and Environmental Sciences Design House.
  Â
The Tuscaloosa News reports that crews plan to demolish the building during spring break, March 22-29, to make way for a planned expansion of a nearby sorority house.
  Â
The building is near Delta and Magnolia drives between the Delta Delta Delta and Kappa Delta sorority houses. It’s being razed to make way for a new Kappa Delta sorority house, according to UA’s 2012 sorority expansion master plan.
  Â
Sidewalks around the building will be closed to pedestrians during the demolition.
