Alabama Retail Association Makes Endorsements

One of the state’s largest business groups, the Alabama Retail Association, has endorsed Gov. Robert Bentley and Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey for re-election.
The organization says it is also supporting Attorney General Luther Strange, State Treasurer Young Boozer and Agriculture Commissioner John McMillan for re-election.
It is endorsing incumbent Jeremy Oden for one seat on the Public Service Commission and Chip Beeker for the other.
The group is backing state Rep. John Merrill for secretary of state, and Adam Thompson for state auditor.
The association endorsed state Rep. Paul DeMarco for the open seat in the 6th Congressional District. It endorsed incumbents in all other congressional districts.
Association Chairman George Wilder says the candidates understand the issues facing retailers and will give retailers’ interests a fair hearing.
