MPD Arrests Brothers in Recent Homicide
Montgomery police have arrested two brothers on murder charges in a recent homicide.
27-year-old Christopher Sankey and 29-year-old Michael Sankey are each charged with capital murder and assault. Both suspects are being held in the Montgomery County Detention Center without bond.
The shooting happened in the 1700 block of South Holt Street on April 11th. 25-year-old Derrick Varner of Montgomery was transported to Jackson Hospital with a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead.
A second victim was treated on the scene for a non-life threatening injuries.
Police say these shootings stemmed from an argument.
