Rollins’ Attorney Speaks Out about DUI Arrest

An update to the story we broke exclusively on Alabama News Network – The attorney for former House District 76 candidate Maurice Rollins is speaking out on why Rollins dropped out of the race.

As Alabama News Network first told you, Rollins was arrested for DUI Saturday night after totaling his car in Pike Road.

But his attorney, Joe Reed, says Rollins was not intoxicated and swerved to miss an animal.

He also says the DUI charge is not why Rollins dropped out of the race, but that Rollins was having a hard time raising campaign money.

Alabama News Network has tried contacting Rollins but so far we have been unsuccessful.

The incumbent, Thad McClammy, and Montgomery City Councilman Tracy Larkin are still in the race for House District 76.
