Crowd Gathers to Watch Jess Meuse at Wetumpka Watch Party

Slapout native and American Idol finalist Jess Meuse has a big fan base in Elmore County. On Wednesday, about 200 people gathered in downtown Wetumpka for a watch party as Meuse tried to sing her way into the final three.
Meuse sang Kelly Clarkson’s Since You’ve Been Gone, Pink’s So What and Lady Gaga’s You and I. Her performances garnered mixed reviews from the judges, disappointing some of her hometown fans. Still, many of them say they have high hopes Meuse will advance to the final three of the competition.
If Meuse makes it another week, American Idol crews will come to Elmore County, where a parade and concert is planned for Wetumpka. Voting lasts though Thusday, when the final three competitors will be announced on the show.
