Montgomery Police Search For Robbers In Home Invasion

CBS 8 and ABC Montgomery are taking action against crime. Montgomery Police are looking for three people involved in a home invasion in East Montgomery on Bell Road. Tonight, the victims are talking to us about what happened.

A husband and wife, who did not want to be identified, were tied up and held against their will for about an hour after three robbers forced themselves inside of their home in the middle of the night. Now, police are on the search for people who broke into their home.

It all started when the husband took his dog out for her regular walk in the back yard just after midnight Wednesday, when he says three robbers hopped behind their neighbor’s wired fence in the Henley Hedge neighborhood.

“Had the gun and the other one had a pry bar in his hand and this guy, I said ‘hey man we don’t have to do this,'” said the husband.

Police say the robbers forced he and his dog inside the Henley Way home at gunpoint. He says one of the robbers then used the wires from their lamps to tie him up. Hearing the commotion, his wife ran down stairs — she says a robber had a gun to her face.

“I did think, I hope he doesn’t kill us, but I was mainly thinking, he might as they walk out when they get finished,” said his wife. The marks on her wrist show what happened next — she, too, was tied up.

The couple says the group ransacked parts of their house, stealing items like a television, guns, jewelry, .even a pick-up truck.

But the robbers have not been arrested. We saw police going door-to-door, speaking with neighbors.

We spoke with a neighbor who lives across the street… and until the robbers are caught., they say they’re worried about their safety.

“I’m concerned every time I walk out the door with my dog to take him to walk. I’m concerned that somebody is waiting around the corner,” said the neighbor.

And while the couple says they’re thankful they weren’t hurt.

“It was scary but at the time it was just kind of like… not real. I was glad that she came down because knowing that she was close by and not harmed.”

Police say they do not have a description of the three robbers, but if you do have any information, you’re asked to call CrimeStoppers at 215- STOP.

To combat crime in that area, Montgomery Police is working with the Henley Hedge Neighborhood Association to start a neighborhood watch.
