It’s been two years since the end of the largest festival in Montgomery.

Jubilee CityFest lasted over thirty years, but now the city is hoping to fill the void with a new set of events on the same weekend.

This is the second year of the River Jam music festival. And earlier today the Riverbend Brewfest drew a large crowd.

Twenty-four different tents were set up featuring more than 100 different beers to sample.

Now this is the second year of both events, city leaders from the special events department say this is filling the gap as Montgomery’s premiere event after the last Jubilee in 2012.

Ken Reynolds, Montgomery Special Events Department said, “Most festivals do tend to have a life span based upon the type of festival they are and Jubilee had a terrific presence in the city of Montgomery for over 30 years so we are just delighted to step in and fill that void and keep the live music going in downtown montgomery.”

Chuck Leavell of the Rolling Stones and Allman Brothers Band was the headliner for the free concert Saturday night
